EMDR Intensives
Welcome
Are you finally sick of your own shit?
You’ve gotten to the place in your life where you recognize your problematic patterns but feel deeply lost as to how to change the things that seem so automatic to you. EMDR is an intervention that can help you to shift your patterns on a deep level, bringing about the change you desire. In part, EMDR is a spiritual intervention that not only works to change the neural pathways of your brain, but also to remind your spirit of the wholeness that exists within and has always existed.
EMDR intensives work for several reasons: first, while EMDR can be done within the confines of a therapy hour, many clients have difficulty staying focused on the work they want to accomplish because the day-to-day challenges seem to take precedence. Second, the container necessary to complete this sacred work is optimal when there is space and time to allow the nervous system to rest and focus only on the issue at hand. And what spiritual healing requires more than anything is deep connection.
EMDR is most widely known as an intervention used to heal trauma. However, EMDR is much more broadly used for issues related to anxiety, codependency, self-esteem, phobias, depression, or any issue that is consistently showing up in your life that you want to be free of. We get a lot of work done to create big changes in a short amount of time. You will go home with tools to be a freer version of yourself.
The intensives offered in my practice vary in length from as little as 3 hours to as long as 15 hours. The length will be determined after the consultation meeting is conducted. A longer intensive experience would run over several days and hours per day and would be most appropriate for more complex issues and individuals traveling from out of town. Shorter intensive experiences for folks who live nearby can be clustered over multiple days, spread apart for 3 – 4 hours per experience. This option might be most appropriate for someone working with a primary therapist, in a situation where you and your therapist believe this intervention would support your continued work.
Who might consider an EMDR intensive:
Someone who has a primary therapist that doesn’t practice EMDR and would like to find a new avenue for healing as an addition to the work they are already doing.
Someone who has done healing work in the past, but recognizes there are some places in their life where they keep making choices that are not optimal or aligned with who they’ve become.
Someone who recognizes that the core negative ways they think about themselves are at the root of their relational challenges.
Someone tired of the constricting patterns and pain of their life.
EMDR intensives are not appropriate for individuals with significant dissociative issues/diagnoses, as long-term therapy is most effective under these conditions.
What an EMDR intensive might look like from start to finish:
If you decide this might be the correct healing venture for you, we will schedule a 45 – 60-minute long consultation conducted over Zoom. EMDR intensives are not for everyone, and during that time, we can determine not only whether this is an appropriate option for you, but also the length of time necessary to conduct your experience.
Once the length of time is determined, we will schedule your experience. If you are traveling from out of town, that would be the time to make your travel arrangements.
If we are meeting for several hours in a day, we will plan breaks in the day to take care of your physical needs, including lunch.
We meet and begin our journey of healing together!
Rates
EMDR intensive rates are $225 per hour.
